Trying to decide on the optimal keywords to use for website SEO can often be daunting and painstaking. The latest tool provided by Google may just be what you need to trigger keywords/phrases that would be most suitable for use on your website or any other searchable sites. Google’s Wonder Wheel mind maps the search terms and phrases and provides you with alternatives to the direct search term that you use to describe the products or services. It is remarkable! Give it a shot.

The treasure trove of applications you can employ to gain the most out of your Twitter service for your business is endless. Here are 3 of my favorites:

Echofon (formely TwitterFox): This Firefox web browser plugin allows you to view Tweets within your web browser. This saves time and eliminates the need to constantly go to Twitter.com.

SocialOomph (formerly TweetLater): This service allows you to schedule tweets. Another of its features, is the ability to receive email digests of keyword activity in the Tweet-o-sphere. It allows you to join a conversation or track topics and trends.

Ping.fm: If you have accounts with many services, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, your blog, etc; this site allows you to post updates across every single one of your social media networks in one fell swoop!

Wasn’t it just yesterday that Twitter got off the ground? It has quickly segmented its market, and now, has expanded to ExecTweets, a site devoted to what executives are saying on Twitter. ExecTweets is a partnership between Federated Media and Microsoft. It is a platform that “aggregates the tweets of top execs and empowers the community to surface valuable and insightful business-related tweets”.

ExecTweets, still in its infancy and currently being offered as a beta site, boasts of 75-80 top executives. The Twitter craze has definitely caught on and is poised to grow.

ExecTweets gives you the option of joining the tweet or recommending an executive that should be on the site by replying to @exectweets via Twitter, or alternatively, you can follow the executive chatter on ExecTweet.

“Green” Marketing April 22, 2008

All of this talk about being environmentally conscious, going green, global warming etc; has got me thinking about the impacts we have as businesses. We have, over the years added our share to the landfill problems by the amount of paper we have generated for our marketing campaigns. That was our way of keeping in touch with our existing and potential customers. While that was a good way to reach our customers, the conversion rate was not any more significant than what internet marketing has to offer. With internet marketing, we can rest assured that the cost and the damage to the environment can be significantly reduced. For those of you out there who are becoming increasingly “green” conscious, internet marketing may be the alternative that you have been looking for.

An interesting blog that I read recently, suggests that over 100 billion pieces of junk mail are delivered by the US Postal service each and every day. Of that, on average, six of them are delivered to each household.

So, if you are considering alternative ways to market your business and not add to the already growing landfill problems, consider Internet Marketing as your “Green” alternative.

Are marketing campaigns affected by the day you send it? March 31, 2008

If you are looking to get subscribers to any of your internet marketing ventures, according to a recent article in the MarketingSherpa, the day that you send out the sign-up or subscription notice has a significant correlation to the day that you send the follow up e-mail.

Sending out marketing campaigns from Tuesday-Thursday has been the rule of thumb until a company had tested the validity of the said dates due to poor responses to their marketing campaigns. It is interesting to note that in the tests conducted by Lumosity, if the follow up was sent on the same day of the week that the initial marketing campaign was sent, the response rate was higher. It was stated to be as high as 81%.

Therefore, while conventional wisdom had pegged Tuesday through Thursday as the best days to get the best response to marketing campaigns, the testing conducted by Lumosity to increase game usage on their site proved otherwise.
